Copyright Policy

INTRODUCTION

At YAB ?! Counts, it is important to us that when we take images or other information we use, we credit the owner or original creator. Since our service uses many images, information, and third party services, it is right for us to credit the individual/group. None of this would have been possible without their services.

What is copyright? Copyright is a type of intellectual property that gives the original owner/creator unrestricted right to the copy, distribution, adaptation, display, and a form of creative work. This creative work can be used for educational, artistic, or musical form.

What is fair use? Fair use is the process of which certain uses of copyrighted material can be used for/not limited to criticism, commentary, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, or research. This is considered fair use.

Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship and research. Fair Use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing.

The Copyright Laws of the United States recognizes a "fair use" of copyrighted content. Section 107 of the U.S. Copyright Act states: "Not withstanding the provisions of Section 106 and 106a, the fair use of a copyrighted work, including such use by reproduction in copies of phonorecords or by any other means specified by that section, for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, or research, is not an infringement of copyright."

Our policy for copyright is broken into three categories: Developer use, regular user use, and development for YAB ?! Counts.

Developer Use for YAB ?! Counts is when developers use our open source services for their own use. We expect that developers use some form of credit in their code.

Regular user use is when users use our sites and services for their content such as streams, videos, or posts. YAB ?! Counts is a new site with boundless possibilities and we want new people to view and use our sites/services. We also do this to increase more traffic to the site.

In addition of regular user use, when our users use our services, our branding, and in their content, we expect to see the link to YAB ?! Counts.

YAB ?! Counts uses third party services such as social media platform logos and third party code in our documentation. All listed is under fair use. We do not own/own rights to any of these third party resources.
